Sesame Seeds Milk - homemade, healthy replacement for dairy!

Struggling to quit dairy? Concerned about your family’s calcium intake? Nuts & Seeds may be the answer to your concern. Nuts and seeds can be easily made into milk. These are high on nutritional content and a couple of servings each week should help meet your dietary requirements. Here is one such recipe of Sesame Seed milk.
Ingredients
- Sesame Seeds: 1 cup
- Water: 3 cups
- Dates: 3-6 (pitted)
- Cinnamon: 1 tsp
- Vanilla: 1 tsp (Optional)
- Rock Salt: a pinch
Method
- Soak the sesame seeds for about 8 hours or overnight. Add a pinch of salt to the water while soaking.
- Once soaking is done, drain off the water and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
- Put the soaked seeds, dates and water in a blender and blend on high speed. Grind to get a smooth paste.
- Strain the seed paste using a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
- Use your hands to squeeze out all the water.
- For flavour, you could add in the cinnamon or vanilla (optional).
- It can be stored in fridge and stays good for about 3 days.
