Coconut is one of our favorite nut to add variety, taste and health onto our plates. Grate it on salads, churn it in a mixie and add to veggies or soups. Or simply make some interesting chutneys and dips and add the oomph to salads.

Here is a quick-to-do coconut mustard chutney / dressing.


Ingredients

  • Fresh Coconut: 1
  • Green Chillies: 3-4
  • Mustard seeds: 2 tsp
  • Lemon and rock salt: as per taste

Method

  • Break the outer shell of the coconut and extract the inner white part.
  • Cut coconut into small pieces.
  • Cut chillies into halves.
  • Mix coconut, chillies and add the mustard seeds and grind the mixture into a fine paste.
  • Add lemon juice and salt as per the taste needs.
  • Coconut mustard dressing is ready to be used in salads.

  • Food group: Nuts
  • Goes with any food group (except fruits). Can be easily consumed with meals.
  • Nuts are a natural source of oils, this is how nature meant us to get our oils and fats.
  • Ditch the refined oil, add nuts and nut-based chutneys to meals for kids and adults alike.
