Drink your veggies! Yes, juices are nature’s vitamins and supplements packed with much needed enzymes and fibre. Juices also help you hydrate internally at a cellular level. If you are feeling thirsty in summers, your body is indicating a need to cool down naturally. Add juices daily, and see the difference! Offer them to kids, and you will be surprised that they may happily lap it up. In this recipe, the regular salad ingredients - tamatar and kheera are transformed into a delightful drink!

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes:2 big
  • Cucumbers: 2 medium sized
  • Mint, a handful optional (or any fresh green herb)
  • Ginger: an inch
  • Amla : ½ optional

Method

  • Clean all the veggies in freshwater.
  • Chop the tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Peel, and chop the cucumber.
  • Mix both tomatoes and cucumber in a blender and blend till smooth consistency. Also add in your green herbs, ginger and amla.
  • Filter the juice using a strainer to remove any seeds or bumps.
  • Transfer to glasses and serve.

Veggies, are loaded with enzymes and high-water content. They aid in digestion and act as daily dose of vitamins and minerals. Juicing raw vegetables is a tried and tested way to ensure your kids take in their share of raw (even the fussy ones!). You just have to get the combinations right!
