Poha is an all-time favourite as a snack or even as a breakfast option in many Indian households. Ever wondered if you could skip the oil required to prepare it! Try this quick, no-cooking involved recipe of preparing masala poha. And yes, it oil-free too! Goodness of raw vegetable simply put together with the regular flattened rice to give a healthy, tasty snacking option. So read full to know how to make poha without oil.

Ingredients

  • Regular poha (Flattened rice) - 1 cup
  • Capsicum chopped - 1
  • Potatoes boiled & chopped - 2
  • Onion chopped - 1
  • Tomato – 1 chopped (de-seed and keep in a strainer to remove water)
  • Veggies of choice - 1 cup
  • Green chilly - 2-3
  • Lemon juice- 2-3 tbsp (adjust as per taste)
  • Jaggery powder – 1 -2 tsp (optional)
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala to taste - ½ tsp
  • Rock Salt to taste
  • Peanuts - ¼ cup (dryroasted)

Method

  • Sprinkle some water on the poha ( you can use coconut water will give you good taste). Make sure poha absorbs enough water and becomes soft.
  • Take the softened poha in a big bowl add all the chopped vegetables, turmeric powder, garam masala, roasted peanuts, jaggery powder (optional)salt, lemon juice and mix well.
  • Decor with chopped coriander leaves.
