Fats is one of the basic nutrients required for the optimal functioning of our body. Nuts & seeds are the best way to get your fats naturally! Try this recipe of making cookies using peanut butter & flax seeds. Enjoy tasty, homemade cookies!

Ingredients

  • Flax seeds:1 tbsp (ground into fine powder)
  • Water:3 tbsp
  • Oats:1 cup
  • Baking soda:1 tsp
  • Vanilla:1 tsp
  • Dates paste:1 cup
  • Peanut butter:1 cup
  • Water:1/4 cup

Method

  • Mix the flax seeds powder with 3 tbsp water and let it sit for 30 minutes. It will become a gooey paste. This will be the binder instead of eggs which are usually used in recipes.
  • Add the oats, baking soda into a mixie to get a fine dry powder.
  • Add the flax seeds paste, dates paste, peanut butter and water.
  • Mix well until mixture sticks together.
  • Roll into balls.
  • Place on a baking paper.
  • Flatten balls slightly. Using a fork, make marks into each like a cross.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
