Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 2-3 Servings
Here is another daily recipe - done in a healthful manner. Dairy should not be combined with other food groups (if you are consuming it, have it alone). Instead of dairy we have used cashew nuts - a whole food which provides natural oils to us. We have also done this recipe oil free, as refined oil just adds to our digestive overload.
Ingredients
- Potatoes: 2
- Green Peas: 1 cup
- Cashew paste: 2-3 spoons
- Besan (Gram) flour: 1 tbsp
- Tomato: 1 – 2 medium sized
- Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder, cumin seeds - all ¼ spoon(for masala)
- Ginger/Garlic paste: 2 spoons (Cut fresh and crush well)
- Rock salt as per taste
- Other standard masalas: Coriander powder, Bhuna Zeera powder, Turmeric, Sabut Zeera
Method
- Steam the potatoes and green peas and keep it aside
- Do note that steamed peas is slightly more crunchier than pressure cooked ones
- Prepare a masala by dry roasting coriander powder, cumin seeds, haldi powder, tomato, ginger garlic paste in a wok
- Add a glass of water to this masala to make it a gravy
- Now add the steamed potato and green peas to this gravy and boil in simmer for few min
- Add cashew paste, it will creamy flavor and natural oils to the recipes.
- If the gravy needs to be thick, then add a spoon of besan flour and let it cook for 10 minutes
- Add salt as per your taste
Your Oil free Aaloo matar is ready!
