Natural coffee could be an alternative to coffee. This could be a popular drink during the monsoon.

Dried corianderseed helps in reducing bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol in the body. Also rich in copper, zinc, iron and other essential minerals that increase RBC formation in the bone marrow and improves the health of the heart. It also help in increasing metabolism in our body

Dried jeera powder is good to enhance the digestion and prevent infections of the GIT tract. Research studies have established the above facts.

Dried fennel seeds or saunf is good to increase digestion and treat bloating, gas, or cramps, and also acts as a diuretic.

Dried ginger powder has been found useful to increase the digestion, reduce nausea and helps to fightflu and common cold.

Palm sugar is a good source of Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. It being rich in iron helps to treat anemia and also good to fight Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome in women


Ingredients

To make natural coffee (powder)

  • Whole coriander seeds - 1 cup
  • Whole jeera - half cup
  • Whole saunf - half cup (or less)
  • Dried ginger powder

To make kashaay

  • Natural Coffee powder
  • half cup water
  • 2 tsp of palm sugar
  • Half cup coconut milk (optional)

Method

  • To make the natural coffee powder, you have to roast the ingredients on a low flame, one ingredient at a time till you get a nice aroma.
  • After you have let the ingredients cool down at room temperature and then powder them in a /mixer/grinder. You may store in an airtight container.
  • To make the natural coffee, to half cup of water, add a spoonful of the natural coffee powder, palm sugar to taste and bring to a boil.
  • Strain the beverage and serve. You can adjust the quantity of water, Optionally you can add coconut milk and palm sugar according to taste and choice
