Strawberries are loved by most kids. They could be had as is or made into yummy smoothies combined with different fruits. Smoothies are not only relished by kids, it's fun to engage them in making their own smoothies. Encourage kids to have fruits by having them make this strawberry smoothie.


Ingredients

  • Strawberries with leaves:1 cup
  • Bananas:3
  • Orange:one half
  • Basil leaves:Handful
  • Water:as needed

Method

  • Chop the bananas and strawberries, put in an airtight jar and put in the freezer overnight or for about 6-7 hours.
  • Place the frozen bananas and strawberries along with the other ingredients in a mixer.
  • Blend together, adjusting the water as per the desired thickness.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Eating Guide:

  • Food group: Fruits.
  • Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can be eaten as evening snack.
  • Great way to up fruits for kids, offer them after school or play.
  • Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals.
