Frozen Banana Mousse - A Chocolate Delight For The Child In You!

Once you do this fruit based dessert, you will be surprised at how easy it is to get a mousse like dish out of fruits and healthful cacao powder. No milk, no added sugar, just goodness and sweet of fruits. This is a wonderful treat for kids, and can act as a full snack meal for toddlers.


Ingredients

  • Bananas (ripe): 3
  • Honey: 2 tsp (Can use date paste too) **
  • Cinnamon powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Cacao powder: 1 - 2 tsp (More as per taste, if you prefer dark chocolaty flavor)

Dressing

  • Mint leaves: 5-6 (optional, for garnishing)
  • Any fruit, whole or cut in long slices (strawberry or mango or any choice of fruit)

Method

  • Slice bananas. Put in a mixie.
  • Blend with honey (or date paste), cinnamon and cacao powder.
  • Taste test for sweetness and choco flavour. Add more honey, or cacao powder if needed.
  • Pour in a small shot glasses or mini glass bowl.
  • Add a slice of cut fresh fruit on top.
  • Place a mint leaf.
  • Put in freezer for 20 minutes to set.
  • Take out and keep in fridge till you eat it.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon.

    ** Dates are fruit category (dry fruits), so can be added easily to fruit based desserts. Soak 8-10 dates for about 30-60 minutes in some water. Deseed and churn in mixie (Use the water instead of discarding). Your date paste is ready.

  • Food group: Fruits.
  • Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can be eaten as evening snacks.
  • Great way to up fruits for kids.
  • Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals.
