Crispy French Bean Salad - add live foods to your plate!

Salads are always a great way to add raw veggies to your dietary intake. And here’s how to make a crunchy french beans preparation that you could have as a salad or as a delicious vegetable side dish that adds color and nutritious to your meal! Adding peanuts not only enhances its nutritional value and provides for natural fats, but it also accentuates the taste and adds more crunch to munch on! Happy munching!

Ingredients

  • French Beans : 200 Gms
  • Onion (red): 1 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato: 2 medium sized (finely chopped)
  • Peanut powder: 3-4 tsp (roasted/crushed)
  • Black salt: to taste
  • Lemon: ½ (juiced)
       

Method

  • Wash the french beans well.
  • Chop in slanting motion, diagonally to get diamond shapes.
  • Slightly steam, till color is retained.
  • Mix with onions and tomatoes well. You can do this, when your steamed beans are slightly warm, to release the flavors from all the three ingredients nicely.
  • Once mixed, add the other ingredients and mix well again.
  • Garnish with peanuts and serve!

Eating guide:

     
  • Food group: Veggies (Raw and steamed salad)
  • This can be had as a salad, or even a subzi if made in larger proportion. Goes well with meals.
  • Steamed and raw veggies, ensure the water content and enzymes in the live foods is retained well.
