Coconut raw mango chutney is a yummily tasty way of incorporating the goodness of raw coconut in your diet! Addition of raw mango lends a distinct tangy flavour that goes well with homemade idlis or chillas!

Coconut is one the most versatile ingredient used in an array of raw as well as cooked preparations! Having raw coconut gives you incredible health benefits! Rich in dietary fibre, may boost your health by supporting digestion, boosting metabolism, and normalizing bowel movements.

Try this variation of the regular coconut chutney!

Ingredients

  • Fresh coconut: half (grated)
  • Raw mango: ½ cup (grated)
  • Green chillies: 2 (broken)
  • Salt as required
  • Water as required

For tempering:

  • Cold pressed coconut oil: 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds: ½ tsp
  • Urad dal: ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves: 1 sprig
  • Mango (raw): as required (sliced, for garnish)

Method

  • In a mixer jar, combine the grated mango and coconut, green chilli and a little water and grind well to make a fine paste of chutney.
  • Transfer into a bowl and adjust salt as per taste.
  • Heat oil in a tadka pan on medium heat, add mustard seeds and allow them to crackle, now add curry leaves and urad dal and turn off the flame.
  • Pour the tempering all over the chutney and garnish with raw mango slices.
  • Serve Coconut Raw Mango and Curry leaves chutney with homemade soft idlis or besan chillas.
