The mix is a very good balance in viatmins and protein . They are good in anti- oxidant and rich in nutrients . Good for bone and gut health.

They taste good with tomato garlic chutney and veg avial.

Ingredients

  • Black rice - 1 cup
  • Brown rice - 1 cup 
  • Masoor dal whole - 1/2 cup
  • Green gram (sprouted or raw) - 1 cup
  • Methi seeds (sprouted) - 2 tbsp 
  • Bengal gram - 1/ 2 cup
  • Red chilly - 5 
  • Jeera - 1 tbsp
  • Peppercorns - 1 tsp ( or more, as per taste ) 
  • Salt to taste
  • Drumstick leaves - 2 hand full 

Method

  • Soak all ingredients in water for 4 hours,  leaving salt and drumstick leaves.
  • Grind to a coarse consistency and add salt to the batter. Pour in a big vessel.
  • Allow fermenting overnight.
  • Use the fermented batter to make adai - spread the batter on heated tawa and cook on both sides
  • Add finely chopped drumstick leaves to the batter while making adai
